Collagen cross-linking enhances the mechanical properties of bone by improving toughness matrix. Randomized electrical stimulation contributes positively to behavior osteoblastic cell in vitro promoting osteogenic differentiation and mineral deposition. However, effects randomized on collagen crosslink formation, which are associated with toughness, yet be elucidated. In this study, we identify osteoblast cells vitro. MC3T3-E1 stimulated two electric (ES) patterns: a periodic pulse train (PrPT) constant rate 500 Hz, random (RdPT) composed rates up Hz for 3 min/day first days. After stimulation, lysyl oxidase (LOX) type I (COL) gene expression, LOX activity, insolubility investigated. addition, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is performed evaluate degree maturity, i.e., cross-linking. RdPT ES does not affect COL mRNA expression levels after single min. day 14 ES, activity significantly increased compared control. The ratio insoluble RdPT-stimulated sample higher than that control 21. FTIR exhibits maturity (1652/1680 cm−1 area ratio) PrPT groups conclusion, promotes through activation LOX.
